Glass - Jadite
While some jadite items were produced prior to 1930, the introduction of the jade kitchenware and dinnerware in the early 1930's marks the first large-scale attempt to introduce the glassware. The opaque glassware was introduced in a variety of colors that were inspired by the various shades of opal and jade stones. At that time most jadite was produced by McKee Glass and Jeannette Glass Company. Most jadite by McKee is marked "McK" in a small circle. Most Jeannette jadite is not marked. Some of the earlier pieces are marked with a "J" in a triangle followed by mold numbers. From 1945 to 1975 most jadite dinnerware was made by Fire-King, a division of Anchor Hocking. Most Fire-king jadite is marked with the Fire-king logo, however, some pieces that were special orders for specific stores or promotions have no company marking.
